Test Page — Stand Up Nebraska Campaign Action Plan

Over 1,000 Lincoln-area Nebraskans joined together to publish full-page ads in the Lincoln Journal-Star newspaper. Those ads included a letter to our members of Congress calling on them to stand up and defend our democracy and Constitution. The ads included the names of 1,000+ Nebraskans who publicly expressed their concerns and about threats to our democracy and called on Congress to act. A copy of the full-page ad is here. Since the ads were published, more that 700 folks have stepped up and publicly joined the original 1,000+ endorsers of this call to Defend Our Democracy.

A successful grassroots campaign includes a mix of practical actions that individuals can take themselves and larger, organized collective actions to flex, apply and build the broader movement and/or organization. Below are some of the practical individual actions that we hope you will consider undertaking personally.,

Defend Our Democracy and Constitution yard signs.  A thousand or more of these yard signs scattered around our city and state will greatly enhance our overall campaign visibility and provide a consistent public message.  Reserve your yard sign here.

Letters to Your Members of Congress.  1,000+ of us publicly signed a letter calling on our Congressional members to defend our democracy.  It is now time for the 1,000+ of us, and the 700 who have joined us since, to send them a personally signed copy of that letter to make sure they heard us loud and clear. “Let’s Make It 5,000+” — When we originally published the Defend Our Democracy open letter full-page ads, a little over 1,000 folks had committed themselves to be publicly listed as supporting this call to defend our democracy. Since then an additional 700 folks have stepped up and requested that their names be added to a growing list of public endorsers of this Defend Our Democracy open letter. The current listing of 1,700 public endorsers of the Defend Our Democracy open letter is here. These names are now coming from all across our state. To build support for the longer-term objectives in the Stand Up Nebraska Campaign Action Plan we need to continue to reach out and build this list of active supporters. Your individual effort to reach out and recruit your friends, family, and co-workers is the key to making that happen. To make it easy, we have an online sign up form here. Or if you prefer, we also have downloadable, and printable sign up forms here. Again, you are the key to reaching out to folks that you know who are concerned about these threats to our democracy. Provide them with a way to act on those concerns.

Longer-term Struggle. The fight to defend and restore our democracy will not be a short one. We must prepare ourselves and plan for a longer-term struggle, at a minimum through the November 2029
