Scottsbluff Area

The folks in the Scottsbluff Panhandle area of Nebraska took an initiative to Stand Up and make their concerns and voice heard on July 3, 2025. These Panhandle folks solicited the endorsement of 187 fellow Panhandle residents to an open letter stating their concerns about what they perceived to be threats to our Constitution and democracy from the current Administration. This open letter, complete with the name of the 187 endorsers, was then published in a half-page newspaper advertisements in both the Scottsbluff Star-Herald and the Omaha World Herald.

They stated that they could have gotten the names of more than the 187 endorsers, but they had started late and had committed themselves to a July 3rd publishing date. They also published in the Scottsbluff Star-Herald a related opinion piece. A copy of the newspaper ad and the opinion piece are here.

This local initiative has served as the stimulus for a similar Lincoln area effort.
